Another aspect of Mike’s past history that interweaves with his daily job of
creating stairs is his work within the construction field which is as varied as the
type of stairs Grahame Construction offers! One doesn’t immediately associate
high steel, “boiler maker and fitter” and welding with residential home
construction, but each position presented challenges and opportunities that
can be applied to stair building on a regular basis. Learning how to manipulate
steel and welding comes in handy when creating a metal staircase just as
Mike’s love of algebra and geometry is mandatory when calculating the
everyday application of building a stair. Assisting the builder and/or framer with
these calculations is offered as a free service to builders under contract for
stair building with Grahame Construction. This one aspect alone can save time
and money for both the builder and homeowner.
