APRON

POST-TO-POST (PTP) -

when a handrail system is fitted between newel posts. This system allows the necessary spacing required for boxed newels and/or those newels with caps (these may include square-, ball- or acorn-topped caps among other designs) Using this handrail system gives the consumer a choice in the transition areas between the carriage and landings or carriage and balcony between using a gooseneck application or a straight handrail which dies into the newel. Using a straight diagonal in a PTP stair will require a landing newel with its upper block larger than that of the balcony newels and starting newels. Using a gooseneck fitting at the ends of the diagonals will allow the intermediate landing newel to have the same size block as all the other newels.
