Balconies are most often considered an extension of the staircase surrounding
the stairwell or opening. However, many situations present themselves where
the balconies become an entity unto themselves such as a bridge connecting
one wing of the home to another. It can also be a niche for reading or an overlook
into the great room. Another opportunity for a balcony to stand on its own is
when used in a library on the upper level.

When a balcony rail ties into a wall, you can rest assured that when Mike & Tricia
have built your balcony, it has been secured to more than sheet rock! We make
sure the rail is anchored to the framing of the house. When Grahame
Construction has been contracted early enough in the building process,
we will even meet with the framer and builder
